FIXIT General Assembly Meeting in Udine

On 29–30 April 2026, the FIXIT consortium met in Udine, Italy, for a project meeting hosted by our partner, the University of Udine, and held at CISM (International Centre for Mechanical Sciences)—a renowned venue that provided an inspiring setting for scientific exchange—at a pivotal stage as the project moves toward its final phase.

Over one-and-a-half days, partners reviewed recent technical progress and aligned on the steps needed to reach completion. A key highlight was the advancement in BEOL (Back-End-of-Line) integration, with first functional devices now available—providing a solid basis for further discussions on performance and integration challenges. In parallel, the consortium assessed FSD device reliability, sharing results that clarified device behavior and helped define priorities for further optimization.

These discussions led to agreement on the final demonstrator design and the roadmap toward chip tape-out, ensuring a coordinated path forward. The meeting also addressed upcoming dissemination activities and served as preparation for the M30 review, with partners aligning on key messages, deliverables, and responsibilities.

Beyond the formal sessions, the meeting also created space for informal exchanges that helped advance the project not only technically, but also by strengthening collaboration and reinforcing a strong team spirit across the consortium. Overall, the Udine meeting underscored the strong collaboration within the consortium and a shared commitment to delivering impactful results in the project’s final phase.
